I'm curious how much nice running, excellent condition German steam locos cost here in the US used market. Specifically thinking about Roco and Fleischmann DB or DR passenger steamers, in DC w/o sound. I don't see many around, but am also not sure where I should be looking! I have always admired the German steamer's lines (and Brit's, too, though those are hard to find in HO), and thought it would be nice to have a few around.
Kevin, If you cannot find an answer, call Tom's Train Station in Raleigh, NC -- don't have the # on hand, but it should be easy to find -- ask for a gentlemen named Dan Edy -- He's quite possibly the single most knowledgable about German steam I've ever met. -Rob
British models will usually be 00 which are a little bit larger scale than H0, but use the same track. Given the somewhat elastic premise of running US, DE and GB engines together anyway , mixing H0 US/European and 00 GB together shouldn't be a problem - British prototypes are smaller than the others, so the larger scale just makes up a bit of the difference in size.
