Does anyone know of any good places to railfan in Oklahoma City? I just got stationed here at Tinker and it'd be nice to know where I can get some good photos. Thanks everyone!

I think your best bet would be anywhere along BNSF's Red Rock sub. I've got a buddy who knows OKC, I'll see if he can come up with some good locations or something more interesting.

May I recommend asking the folks in the Railspot group at Yahoo? You have to join (it's free), but there are an awful lot of knowledgeable folks there (quite a few in Okie City) who can help you out.

In Okie City, you have BNSF, the Stillwater Central (running on the ex-Frisco between Sapulpa & OKC), and Arkansas-Oklahoma, which uses GEs to switch out the GE plant on the south side of town. You also have Amtrak's Heartland Flyer, which runs between OKC and Ft. Worth (down in the AM, back in the PM). The depot is near the Bricktown section of OKC. I would think that would be a great place to start shooting BNSF freights on the ex-Santa Fe line.

Thanks for the info. Now all I have to do is find the time to go do it. :D
