Great video, great train. Thanks for sharing. Since I did not make it to Sacramento, it is almost as good as being there. Lindley
I wish I would of walked along with a train and shot video like this - but I was running the train (and talking too much - sorry). But you caught the essence of the layout. And this REALLY shows off the size of the huge yard we had there. Great video!
I know how it is when you shall run trains and "work" on the layout at the same time, its not so easy to also make videos, but if you listen carefully, you will hear us two both talking from time to time. :tb-biggrin:
Fantastic! What a layout, what a loco, what a train, what a ride. What a joy to watch. Fun to see all the exited kids and hear the talking in the background. Great video. Thanks for sharing! Mikael
I also liked the sound, specially the stereo effect, you can hear the sound moving with the train from speaker to speaker.I can include some whistle sound from my own Challenger in another video. :tb-biggrin:
I can't compete with Svein-Martin's great video, but here is Part 2 of my NTS video: http://vimeo.com/27103670
At 9:40 into the video, there is another Challenger (all black) sitting on the other main - not moving. This engine also has sound. I think there are only 3 sound equipped Challangers and two of them were at NTS. Svein-Martin happens to have the other one, but he did not bring it. That would of been sweet to have a double header of the Challengers.
Grabbed this frame from the video. The black engine is coal fired while the "gray ghost" is oil fired.
Here is Svien-Martin's own video of his Challenger:
Excellent stuff chaps! I have made two resolutions as a result of this I have now decided that 'Shasta' will be modular and secondly having seen how the tracking shots of the challenger work I am going to try and rig up some sort of dolly under one of my tripods to do tracking shots on Cuyahoga ' I hope to get other people in the U.K interested in Z-bend at this years Zedex in October so we may have the curious sight of 'Midsomer mardy' our british layout connected to 'Cantara Loop'! Once again congratulations on an inspring set of videos KEV P.S the Z scale Berkshire had its first test run this evening. More news soon

My favorite part is Robert Kluz watching the second Challenger go by and he says twice, "that's not right". I'm pretty sure he is referring to the sound coming out of the engines. Hee Hee!
