Oh! That´s interesting! Please let us know which movie! May be, I´ve seen it but can´t rememeber. In Germany, American movie titles are often "translated" completely different.

Currently still on Netflix in my country (Netherlands). The gas station was very accurately translated to Z scale. Only the added window muntins (grilles) are mostly not conform and to me do not look very realistic in the kit. As you can tell from the still, only the top floor window had those.
I ordered this kit from Showcaseminiatures yesterday and am looking forward to give it go #letsbuildsomething (y)

    veah!!! :D:D:D
It´s a remake of a swiss-german-spanish movie ( Es geschah am hellichten Tag) from 1958. The evil duer was Gerd Froebe, the standard Bad-German of these times, as we know at latest from the James Bond movie Goldfinger :)

That is a funky building, and I really like funky buildings for model railroads. So, who knows where the real building is located?

I had searched and found these possibilities:
While the opening scenes were filmed in Reno, Nevada, the rest of the film was shot in Keremeos, Princeton, Hedley, Merritt and Lytton, all in British Columbia.

    Lytton, BC, indeed.

This is what it looked like around 2001:
