this time a station/engine shop. 1) where is it ? 2) this building has a special feature. which ? 3) why had this feature been added ? (ok, to win it is enough to answer #1)
I have a feeling we are close to, if not in Switzerland. It is a lake, but there are many lakes in that vicinity...
I've done some looking. But not really certain if I am in the right area, and not familiar enough to have yet tracked it down.
I have as yet to make any progress in locating this one. It is obviously next to a lake or reservoir with lowered water level. It does appear to be electrified. Meanwhile, we do know that: Not members of the EU- 1.Iceland 2.Norway 3.Switzerland 4.Serbia 5.Montenegro 6.Croatia 7.Bosnia-Herzegovina 8.Macedonia (Former Yugoslav Republic of) 9.Albania 10.Andorra 11.Belarus 12.Moldova 13.Monaco 14.San Marino 15.Liechtenstein 16.Vatican City 17.Russia 18.Ukraine We can quickly rule out Andorra, Monaco, San Marino and Vatican City. There are no active railroad operations on Iceland. None there were ever electrified.
russia was ruled out with hint #2 ... hemi, seems like you missed a spot .... ok, another clue. answers to question 2 and 3 : 2: this building features an indoor turntable (probably the only one in the world) 3: turntable is used to turn the rotary snow plow
On the side of Lake Bianco, next to Ospizio Bernina

+46° 24' 27.25", +10° 1' 14.06"

Don't know if I would say this... It might be the only one left or in service. The SP used to have one in the Norden snow shed to turn Cab Forwards in helper service. I am pretty sure I have seen some info about some of the Colorado NG lines having them as well.
So, what is the offical name of the railroad operation? Is it still the Bernina Railway? Rhaetian Railway (Rhb)?
