    I notice some of you have posted images from Google Maps showing Lat/Lon rather than street addresses. I've searched high-n-low on the GM site, including Help and every button/link I see, but nowhere do I find a reference to Lat/Lon, or global positioning, or terrestial navigation, or any other obscure title.

    Please enlighten me, sez he on bended knee...:tb-wacky:

    Just paste the coordinates in the search bar.

    Thanks Russ, Unfortunately I search with Google Maps until I find the location, but it only displays an address. I like Google Maps because I can expand the various contest images y'all provide, then flip back and forth between them and the GM image for comparison.

    What I've had to do then is use Google Earth to locate that address, hand copy the coordinates, and edit my TB post......kind of a pain. That's why I was hoping there was some way to trick Google Maps into displaying Lat/Lon.

    Thanks again......

    Google Maps does have a "Link to this page" button in the upper right corner that you can copy and paste. It's just above the Map/Sat/Terrain selector.

    I am just waiting for people to start listing their locations in latitude and longitude. For example, instead of saying that I am at Joe's Diner I could tell someone I am at some-such degrees whatever minutes a few seconds N by some-such degrees whatever minutes a few seconds W.

    OK, you can find the coordinates embedded in the web address that is pulled up. After you click on the LINK button, copy the link and paste it into the search bar.
    <http://maps.google.com/maps?client=firefox-a&hl=en&ie=UTF8&ll=29.625996,-95.619507&spn=0.606429,0.933838&z=10>
    In this case it is 29.625996,-95.619507 or everything between UTF8&ll= and &spn. You can delete everything but the coordinates and search on that and it will take you right there.
