Went home last week and saw a GP 38-2 renumbered into 3006. Also saw the sd38-2 numbered 16--, can't remmeber the rest. When did these change?

According to my Trackside Guide, the SD-38s were renumbered from the 5700s to the 1650s in 1996 when the SD-70s and 75s were purchased. As for the Geep, could it have been a former WC GP-40 repainted as they are the only engines in the 3000 number range?

Are you sure it wasn't 2006? 2006 is going to the former BCR.

No it was a wide nose 38, and was 3006. I thougth it should have been a 4700 class. it was in North Battleford Sask.

    The 1650 - 1653 are ex-NAR SD38-2s 401 - 404. The GPs are in a completely different number range.
