Not that I am a CSX fan or anything, but on my forced march up to Williamsburg, VA(which on any other weekend I would have been thrilled to be there) I spotted this:

Interesting that the slug has bloomberg M style boagies. I wonder why? I thought they were generally disliked for riding worse than the Bloomberg B style or the modified ones on the 60 series and F59s?

Maybe they work better on the slug?

But only on one side? The other side of the truck has no shock, and two brake cylinders. Maybe that's to make sure the engineer stays awake...:)

Huh? There's no pictures of the conductors side of the loco.

Sorry. I was looking at a slightly older picture somewhere else.

Caught one of the GP35 compatriots a couple months back in Brunswick WV. I don't particularly model Eastern roads but the youngest likes Chessie so a CSX GP40-2 with GP30/35 road slug may be in the future.

Also, note that the GP40-2 Mother is riding on Bloomberg B boagies. Curiouser and curiouser.

Yes, they seem to be playing musical trucks under these units. I wonder if there are any out there with a B on one end and an M on the other.

Very interesting shots... I have not looked at the slug trucks in that level of detail, however, I can tell you that I have caught CSX units with -2 trucks and regular trucks mixed on the same unit in the past.

Somewhere in my slide collection I shot a KCS GP30 in Heavener, OK sporting a pair of type M trucks. Obviously, they must be interchangeable.

BTW- that Dark Future mother-slug set looks sharp. The one I shot in western Georgia looked like this:
