Thanks guys! I have now added more turf. I used Medium Green Coarse in areas around the buildings and other areas that would not be subject to mowing or traffic.
The buildings are now attached. I still have a lot to do. There are sa couple of trees to plant along with bushes, grass, and adding other details.
Thanks everyone! I have now added some ballast along the tracks by the buildings. I did not ballast this area before because I needed to leave room for the buildings. I also began adding clump foliage around the shack to hide the joint line.
Tompm: Can you lift your buildings off of the module? I presume they are not permanently planted there. I was wondering what sort of foundation technique you use?
Flash The buildings are attached with white glue. I have a furry "helper" who will knock things over if they are not attached. Also with the moving around I need to do with them it is generally safer if they are attached.
Now I have worked on the gravel roads. For this I used a mixture of the following: • Fine Light Gray Ballast • Medium Buff Ballast • Medium Gray Ballast • Fine Cinders • Medium Brown Ballast • Coarse Dark Brown Ballast • Earth Turf • Coarse Burnt Grass Turf • Coarse Light Grass Turf • Coarse Yellow Grass Turf
Next I added some more Clump Foliage, Fine Leaf Foliage around the shed. I also used some Dark Green Foliage to make some vines. Next I added some more coarse turf on the side of the tracks opposite from the buildings. For this I used the following mixture of Coarse Turfs: • Burnt Grass • Light Green • Yellow Grass • Medium Green
I continue to add foliage to the diorama. Using Medium Green and Light Green Foliage, and Fine Leaf Foliage-Dead I added some between the buildings. Again using the Medium Green and Light Green Foliage and adding some Dark Green I added some weeds and stuff under the freight building. I also used some Fine Leaf Foliage-Dead. Using Clump foliage in the following colors: • Medium Green • Dark Green • Conifer Green • Olive Green And Foliage: • Medium Green • Light Green • Dark Green And Fine Leaf Foliage: • Dead • Olive Green • Medium Green I began adding foliage around the tracks and the buildings and roads. I also used a mix of the following coarse turfs on the area near the shed. • Burnt Grass • Light Green • Medium Green
Thanks Bob! I planted a big tree and added some ground cover around it. I also added more ground cover along the tacks.
Now I added some foliage and clump foliage around the freight house. Again using foliage and fine leaf foliage I added some between the buildings.
Now using the following mix of coarse turf I finished the ground cover: • Burnt • Light Green • Medium Green • Conifer Green
