Anyone know where I can pick up a modern bottom dump grain trailer? I've looked many places and cant seem to find one. I e-mailed makemymodel.com to see if they would consider producing one. received a reply expressing interest. Something of the same ilk as Lonestars HO version is what I'm looking for. Any suggestions?

I'm not aware of anything like that specifically, but I would be interested in a couple. Also rock/gravel trucks as well.

GHQ made one. Number 52-006. Don't know if it is modern enough for you. There is one presently on eBay. http://cgi.ebay.com/GHQ-N-Scale-Dry...goryZ486QQssPageNameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem

The GHQ is a great match for what is around here still. Remember farmers tend to keep things around for a while.

Looks like it might be a good styrene scratch built project. I could use a few at my grain facility.

    Kitbash

S&R models has a 40 ft. van kit that I made into a 42 ft hopper bottom. Their kitbash kit has several bodies and an Atlas wheel set. I shortened the sidewall height and extended the body. I used wire for tarp bars and old sheer curtain material for the tarp. The hopper was styrene filed into shape. It was a relatively simple kitbash that only took a couple of nights to complete.

A topic close to my heart. Somebody out there makes them. Dont ask me who. I remember they were unbelievably expensive. Maybe $30 for just a trailer.
