I don’t know exactly where to post this, but it is just a random question I thought of. What happened to the Gunderson Maxi II? The Maxi I has 40’ wells, the III has 48’ and the IV has 53’. Was there ever a Maxi II design to fill in the chronology? It seems weird to skip from 1-3-4 and leave out 2.
There was a Gunderson Maxi-II that had 45' wells, but it was short-lived as the 48' domestic standard soon replaced the 45s in the 1980s and the Maxi-III surpassed the IIs in production numbers. I suppose the old Maxi-IIs were either cut down to 40' wells or extended to 48' wells.
