Grabiron color ?? I am building an Intermountain O scale box car for a friend of mine. It is the orange and black Rio Grande paint scheme. I need to know what color the grab irons and side ladders are supposed to be. Thanks
It makes sense. I can't see a paintshop masking them off, or putting them on after they've painted. Sometimes, though, weren't they painted safety colors, like white or yellow? And those, from what I've seen, were definitely brush-painted. Bump . . .
well after doing some research, the ladder and grabirons on the side of the car where painted orange. Why, I dont know. but it does look a little strange to me seeing orange grab irons on the silver section of the car. Oh, well. Just have to finish the car now for his layout tour for the local NMRA layout tours.
