Hello all. I am an NTrak modeler from Indianapolis. I was in HO for many years but took a 15 year hiatus because of my late wife's illness. I remarried a lovely lady who had everything going for her except a basement. I negotiated a corner of the garage and reentered the hobby about 18 months ago with CINTRAK (Central Indiana NTrak) and built a 4' module, The Narragansett, Fitchburg & Boston RR depicting a 1956 era new england fishing harbor. Building the module, attending trainshows and just being back in the hobby has been a blast. I'm 65 and a semi retired professional photographer as well as disabled Vietnam Vet. My era is slowly sliding backward as I acquire more and more steam and slowly retire my diesel fleet. I thoroughly enjoy the NTrak concept because, in our club at least, you are free to design your model depicting any theme you want with regard to scenery and equipment. I'm going to take my module to the National Train Show in Grand Rapids later this month and if you are there stop by and say Hey. Our club utilizes the Digitrax system I am slowly getting a handle on DCC (I think). I love to kitbash, and my latest projects are EMD's earliest E units, the E2 of Santa Fe and the EA of the B&O from Lifelike E-6 shells as well as a Flying Yankee from a ConCor Zephyr. BTW...does anyone know where I can get a B&M N scale "minuteman" logo for the front of my Flying Yankee as i want to model it with the snow deflector which in all the photos I've seen was on the front of deflector equipped units. Anyway...so much about me..I look forward to participating in the forum and the hobby.

Welcome from a fellow Hoosier! This really is a great place. I hope you like it. The nscale community here is great. I'm a ways south of you though, near Bedford. Hope to see some photos!

    Welcome to TrainBoard!

We'd love to see pictures of what you are doing!

I am a veteran of NTrak, inactive at present as there is nobody around or interested. Slowly rebuilding an old six footer. You might just be the one to inspire my getting it done! :)

Hi RC, Welcome, especially to another Minute Man N-Scaler. Here's your link to B&M decals, http://mgdecals.com/homepage.htm. This also is where I bought Flying Yankee decals for my ex-Pioneer Zephyr. BTW, I converted the Zephyr 4th Car body into the Yankee's B-Car by cutting back one end to fit the Zephyr's second car chassis. Looks good...unless you're a rivet-counter, ehyup.

Welcome aboard from another New England modeler. Yup, take a look at Hank's pictures sometime. He and I are the two big B&M fans here on Trainboard. I too would love to see your photography. Welcome aboard from 2 hours west of you.

    Hello all,

Thanks for the gracious welcomes and it's nice to hear from others interested in B&M. Hank thanks for the Flying Yankee info as that's exactly the kitbash I'm doing. I already purchase the decals for it from where you suggested but they didn't have the round dark colored "minuteman" logo I needed for the front in order to do the snow deflector equipped version. I may just give up on the deflector idea but I really think it looks cool (OOPS, that's 60's slang for neat). Thanks for the tip on doing the "B" coach as I intend to do the same thing. Most folks probably won't even notice the diffference compared to the Zephyr but "we" will. As far as rivet counters go, they can count away... I had one at a recent show inform me that a passenger car I was running had the wrong windows....I thanked him for the observation and added "and that's not the half of it...it's also made out of plastic!!" Never saw the guy again..oh well. Anyway, glad to be here on the forum and I'll post some pics soon. In the meantime if you want to see the 100lbs monster module I'm working on go to You Tube and search for Ntrak Harbor and it will pop up.....In retrospect..If I hadn't named it the Narragansett, Fitchburg & Boston, I think "Hernia Central" might have been appropriate.

    Cheers,

    Bob
