Hi all, I am fairly new to model railroading, but I have been doing fine scale modeling for about 40 years. I decided to try n scale just for something to do now and again, and I was instantly addicted. I have spent the last 2 years collecting stuff and revising a track plan countless times. Along the way, I bumped into z scale, and now I am completely worthless. I finally joined TB and I am glad to see others like me that also need help and guidance. I look forward to learning from you all and maybe I can help someone in return. I am currently working on a small 2'x4' n scale layout to get my feet wet. I also have a 2'x2' z scale layout I am building. I will try to post some pics as things progress. It seems like I am always waiting on the mail for materials, but I think I am finally there. emaley, welcome aboard! I am one of the few here who do not model, but you will surely find a lot of help from the majority who do so.
Welcome from a fellow north Texas n-scaler! The addiction is rampant in these parts! Hope you're having fun with your layout(s). Be sure and make it to the train shows in the area this fall...plenty of good stuff to see and more importantly fellow modelers to get help and ideas from. Temple is a bit of a drive but coming up in September. LMRA in October, Fort Worth in early November, Oklahoma City in early December (again, a drive but well worth it), and Plano in January.

Great to have you with us! Being a confirmed n scale addict, I had thought about z some time back but price and road availability talkd me out of it. And out of curiosity, what is your fine scale modelling? Curious because I've also done 1/35 in the past and a lot of 1/72. Have fun with your layouts, and please do share pics!
Hello and thanks for the greeting. I never had a specific scale, although I liked the larger stuff. My main addiction was military aircraft, but I also did a lot of 1/35 scale armor. I had a dear friend that is no longer with us that turned me on to using an airbrush and the quality of the finished product went through the roof. ( I was always afraid of airbrushes, lol.) After a temp job replacing incorrect resistors in cell phone chargers, I learned to work under a magnifying lamp so I decided N scale and even Z scale were totally within reach. Now I push the envelope when I can and have been pleasantly surprised. Thanks again and happy hobbying.
Hello Doug, Any idea of the dates for the Temple train show? I knew about the Fort Worth show, but I might hit the one in Temple also.
