    Hey all

I a while back got a bradford loco off ebay, unfortinatly was damaged in shipping. I was wondering if any one mite know if this model is correctly colored. I need to repair the roof and think im gonna have to get into repainting it.Iv searched a few books and on line and cant find enought info, D&H steam in color shows 500series but not 600 series .Im including some pics of the damaged loco. While im at it i will probley fit this loco with dcc and check motor for quiet running

    Dan,

You might attack this from several angles.....first, is the manufacturer/builder/ or original painter still in business? if so contact them for painting information. If you cannot contact anyone associated with the manufacturing or painting of this Locomotive, I'd take it to a well stocked hobby shop with all of the currently available RR paints, Scalecoat, Floquil, etc and see if there is an exact match. In the picture it looks like the cab roof is black, Scalecoat has, I think at least 3 blacks in the Scalecoat II formulation.....most of the paint mfgrs have printed cards with fairly accurate samples of all their colors, you might also try to request as many of these as you can get. I'll bet you can get quite close....mixing Dullcote and Glosscote (Testors) will allow a close sheen match. Perhaps someone else can give an opinion on if it's correctly painted.

    Cheers,
    Phil
