The first thing I would advise is to re-enforce the plywood with some for of benchwork under it. It doesn't have to be really heavy duty either. But you may still be in your planning stage. The other thing I would advise having, is some sort of roll over prevention to catch any rolling stock or locos that may get snagged by a sleeve while reaching over to uncouple cars. Even some plants or fence can be used so as not to distract from the look of the layout. It seems like your plan is evolving nicely.
