Hi folks! I recently bought a P2K SW9/1200 switcher. Great little beast. (Installing a DCC decoder was another matter...but that's another story) My question is this...I'm modelling Canadian Pacific locos, (tuscan and grey ones...love those colors) and I don't know enough about them. The SW 9/1200 came with spark arrestors, all-weather windows, and sun shades. Naturally, the instructions don't indicate which of these accessories would be appropriate on a Canadian road-name. So, what WOULD be appropriate? I assume the all-weather windows, of course...but what about the shades and arrestors? Any CP fans out there who can gimme a hand?

Didn't Tonys offer a plug in replacement for DCC for this unit? I always wanted to get one of these but it hasn't happened yet...
A good point about the detail parts. Here's my take: On my Atlas GP40 (CN#4008) the instruction sheet says 'no plow on the front for CN'. Yet every picture I've seen of the prototype has the plow on. My P2K SW900/1200 (CP#7400) didn't come with instructions about the detail parts either, so... I'd say it's entirely up to the individual modeller which detail parts to put on. BTW, why don't I see any switchers with the odd style of 'muffler/spark arresters' that I see in my area all the time? Sort of a 'dual-stack round muffler' mounted on top of each exhaust stack of the switcher (esp. on CN switchers...). I'd post a picture to demonstrate, but I don't know how to do it here (can't I load up a pic I have stored on my hard drive?).
Now this is really weird. If I right-click on the 'broken-image' icon in my previous post then click on 'view image', it takes me to the image location and displays the image! Anywho, give it a try and you may see the 'mufflers' I referred to previously.
GP40 Welcome to trainboard its always great seeing new members. As for the problem with your picture it looks to me that it is posted on the trainorders server which requires password authentication. For those of us who are not trainorder members we are unable to view the picture My only suggestion is if you move the picture to another server.
