So my friend that prints my N Scale 3D items for me, just got a NEW NCE Power Cab Starter set for Christmas and a starter Atlas track set for the DCC locomotives and some cheap Rapido coupler rolling stock I sent him a few month's back, and I sent him a DC locomotive set with matching cars, and one of those cheap starter DC controllers from back in the day. He had no N Scale track till Christmas day, so he couldn't even run the DC stuff.

So today he opened his new NCE Power Cab Stater set, and laid out the new Atlas simple track set he got and got not one, but BOTH DCC Bachmann F7's working. I thought for sure I had fried one and just sent the other for parts. But no it works too. Look I know this is lower end stuff, but it is how I got started in DCC.

It's gonna be cool to see what he comes up with in the future as he has been following my progress on the C&L over the last year or so. He is already looking for stuff to 3D print for himself in N Scale and looking at how I use my 3D printed items he made for me.

P.S. He also got a DC HO Bachmann starter set last year. So he is into HO and N Scale, but only N Scale in the DCC world at this time.

It's exciting to see a friend get into the hobby. We can share info, swap things, encourage each other, etc... He is also on Trainboard here and I would expect him to be looking in the Swap Meet areas as well as other threads, in the future!

Good for you in helping him make the 'leap' into DCC, as well as nudging him to N scale! :)
