Just recieved a newsletter from FDT. They say that the E7/8/9 only takes about 30 days to be delivered??? And that dealers have to order them before may 1st?
I remember ordering those several years ago....Whenever it happens, it happens. My PCM E-7 SP units run extremely well. Its about time, PCM got their act together.
I'll wait till all the dealers recieve theirs and than PCM cuts thier throats by blowing them out the back door a third of the price!!!!!
It covers E7's, 8's and 9's. What I find interesting is that the only model still labelled a PCM model is the E7 everything else appears to be a BLI model plus they've brought back the PRR M1a/b. Maybe they are starting to put up?
Yeah, well, like my grandpappy [R.I.P.] used to say, wait in one hand and crap in the other. See which you get first.
The website has had a complete makeover too, wonder if they've had a change of management? I don't see any of my usual online dealers taking orders for them yet though.
They moved the N scale items from PCM to their own main menu. They have this production schedule: http://www.broadway-limited.com/schedule.aspx But OK, that doesn't mean a thing. :tb-wink: The hoppers won't be produced: http://www.broadway-limited.com/canceledprojects.aspx I can't find the website of PCM?
It no longer exists, it's been amalgamated into the BLI one. It seems a smart move on BLI's part as PCM has a bad rep out there particularly with us nscalers :tb-biggrin:laugh:
Well, one wonders if the long-awaited M1a will also be finally produced. I guess with my Kato E8/9s already in hand I'm wondering (apart from sound) how PCM's E8 would compare. Is there an expectation that they will set some sort of new standard for E8s?
At least they will have DCC on board. Kato still refuses to produce engines with decoders installed. And they also produce too little roadnames. Yes, I am lazy and not very handy with decoders. :tb-wink:
What Dealer will Let You Place Reservations? I don't see Wig Wag or Brooklyn Locomotive Works carrying them. Anybody know a discount dealer that is taking reservations? Hint Hint George.
Unfortunately for BLI/PCM/FDT, I don't know of a single dealer around here that is willing to take a chance on bringing in stock of theirs only to see it being sold by FDT for less than their dealer cost. Some of the local dealers told me that they stated in no uncertain terms what BLI/PCM could do with their trains. I would hardly blame any dealer for feeling the same way.
