Good Evening Just found this forum. I'm modelling in On30 (badly) at the moment - also have used HO in the past. Must confess not that knowledgeable about the real thing - especialy the American scene. However US prototypes seem to hold my interest more than others. Just love the various shortlines & narrow gauge railroads of America. There is quite a following in UK for American modelling - most better modellers than me, but I get a lot of pleasure out of trying to emulate them!!! Best Regards Steve
Great to have another member from the Old Country. I think you'll find that practice makes perfect (or at least better) and the practice is half the fun, isn't it? Whereabouts are you? I ask because I have family in London (SW I believe), Northamptonshire and Glasgow.
Welcome to TrainBoard! There is a wealth of knowledge available on the 'Net, for North American railroads and modeling them. We have a mix of folks aboard from all around the world who model Canadian or US. Don't let it intimidate you. As you say you are getting pleasure from trying, that's all which truly matters.
Hi Steve, Welcome. Your fascination with American 0N30 is not all that strange. Many Moons ago, there was a countryman of yours, Paul "Something", who modeled a lovely Narrow Gauge logging empire. If one of my compatriots here on TrainBoard can remember his name, I'm sure you would enjoy reviewing Paul's efforts in the TB Archives. In the meantime, we would love to see photos of your efforts.
Welcome Steve! Indeed in this forum there's even frogs/stinkin' cheese eaters as members, uh, uh! Dom
Hi I'm from Berkshire (a county) about 20 miles west of central London. Name of the town is Ascot, famous for it's horse racing track. Regards Steve
