My second attempt to post Hi all , I live (just ) in South Yorkshire in the UK. I model the CB&Q in the late 50's. I have an 6ft x 12ft layout for which i've taken over the main bedroom :startled: ( I luckily have a very understanding wife who also likes full size steam locos.) My layout is is based on the Wymore to Crete sub division of the Q, I own up to using a flipped over and slightly modified Ian Rice plan. Hopefully i can learn how to post some pics later. Dennis
Good to have you with us. Some wonderful scenery around you, as I recall (having visited SW London and Northamptonshire long ago). Is your user name a reference to aviation? If so, you'll find some good company here on that as well!
Hi Dennis. I join the others in welcoming you to Trainboard. Love your user name. If you are indeed a blackbird fan, as in SR-71, YF-12 and A-12, I once worked on them at Lockheed, and could post some photos in the Cattle Car, non-railroad forum.
Hi Dennis, Welcome to the TrainBoard, glad to have you on board. Unlike Jim, I have no connection with Blackbirds. However, I've been a model railroader for 65+ years, first O, then HO, and finally (today) N-Scale. So I'm looking forward to seeing what you have....welcome !
Howdy! Welcome to Trainboard. There are more US-outline model builders here in UK than you might imagine. Regards, Pete Davies
Thanks Hank, Brave man to go 'N' scale:headspin: I have trouble seeing to put Ho cars on track hboy: sometimes!!
Hi Pete, Who knows we may have already passed each other! I visited the NMRA(BR) convention again this year and have been a Black Diamonds HO member for many years:blush: You are correct of course, until one gets involved it seems there is only oneself interested !!
Hi fitz, almost missed you Thanks for the welcome. Alas, as i said to Eagle2 the CB&Q SD7/9 and GP7/9 early livery were called Blackbirds. But i do live 1hr drive from RAF Waddinton and used to live in a low flying area hboyf RAF Tornadoes and Harriers. LOVED IT
I've been out of here fighting a virus on my puter for the past few days ... but I'd like to add my welcome to Trainboard too.
thanks hytec. sorry it's been so long replying ! To be honest my computer has been changed at least twice now and i lost this board! Thanks to the crew for sending an email to tell me again!!!
Hi Dennis, glad to see you finally overcame that overwhelming omnivorous beast, a.k.a your computer. Welcome "home".
Thanks everyone , pleased to be back. I'm not that good at chatting on forums(or anywhere come to that!) but I will have a go at putting my 'old' layout on as a topic if I can. I will need help though. Be (very) patient with me !!
