I am new to this board. The reason I joined was to see if I could possibly find any information about a train accident that my grandfather was killed in April 1914. I always understood that it happened in Kansas, but beyond that I don't know much. If you have any suggestions on how I could find out about this, please let me know. Thanks.
Well, there not a lot that can be found out with that sparse of information. If you can possibly found out what railroad it was some one around here should be able to help you out. And Welcome to TrainBoard
Since you know the month and year you may want to try the library. They often have newspapers on microfilm or microfiche going back quite a long time. I would try the libraries of the town where he lived, the town nearest where the wreck occured (if known) and a larger regional library. The date would narrow it down even more, you could search from the day of the wreck on to about a week or two.
Thanks for the welcome and suggestions. I have tried a google search too. I have also found a bit more information. It was the MO KS TX railroad and it left from Vinita, OK and the wreck was actually in OK. Maybe near Russell Creek? I did a google search but nothing.
