i am looking for advice on how to kit bash my conrail F9A i want to make it look more real its a lifelike train
What I do when I am making a new loco/freight car is to find a prototype photo of the one I want to do, then make a list of all the detail differences between the model and prototype. Next job is to scour the available detail parts and get all the ones you can, if there is none available for one you want then it will be scratch building/kit bashing that part. All of my stock receives this treatment, and if it hasn't yet it will do in the future.
I have had a quick look about, but I can't find any photos of Conrail F9s, I may be wrong but I think they only had F7's
