I forgot to mention, I've had the graphics tape for years. You might try Office Depot to see if they carry it. thanks,
Dang, every time I get invited to an operating session on my friends layout, I can't make it for some reason. Some day I will get to run trains by the old Hearne depot. <sigh>
My latest Westerfield kit joins the fleet. I just finished adding the decals to this 36' wooden coal gondola (it's the third one I've built, I love these things). Tomorrow I'll weather it and add a coal load. I think the Frisco's billboard cars were the coolest of any era!
Nice. And I see it is StL&SF, not SL-SF. Gotta be rare that anyone does anything for that predecessor name.
On the very far left is the Wells Fargo (Express company at that time) and then a Harvey House before the depot on the right.
Crenwelge Plumbing, New Braunfels, Texas. An H0 model I am making for the club. Although the business still exists, I am "backdating" it to the 1950's. It will be cinder block construction.
I just finished building an Intermountain Pfaulder Milk Car kit, I have included some of the in progress photos which show all the piping that go into one of these kits, as they were usually in a Passenger Train and required the extra steam and signal lines. Side and end views of the underbody detail on these cars! Side and end views with all the grab irons and hardware installed. Finished car, paiinted with Floquil Pullman Green and Scalecoat II Black Paint, then lettered using Highball Graphics Decals. Rick J
Add sill striping, pilot steps and handrails to my "free" Atlas Master H16-44. Sent from my LG-P930 using Tapatalk 2
RickJ, Very nice work. It's amazing sometimes to consider how much goes into something as simple as brakes.
A little something simple, I finally got around to adding the grabs to some of my Walthers 20th Century Limited cars. Was supprised what a difference that made.
Started work on building and Sunshine Models PRR X37B Boxcar Kit. Washed the resin parts with warm soapy water and removed the flash from the ends and sides and glued one end to each side as the starting point for assembling this kit. Rick J
Looks like it will be a good looking car. What adhesive do you use to assemble resin? Alan www.andersley.co.uk
Mostly CA even need it to glue plastic parts to the resin parts. Of course the metal parts to the plastic or resin requires CA also. I will use Goo to glue the weight into the car. Rick J
Weathering a string of covered hoppers. It's getting on to time for the grain to start showing up at the port. I'm converting all my hoppers over to metal wheel sets and will be weathering them. Here are the first three in line with the first one out of the paint shop. They are not quite as dark as the pictures show.
I'm bashing an old Bachmann 4-4-0 into an old Frisco locomotive that is shown in a prototype photo that inspired my layout. Tonight I added a NWSL 1630D motor and flywheel and tomorrow I'll add a micro Tsunami sound decoder and a 10mm x 18mm speaker. I've used Athearn/Roundhouse eight wheel pick up tender wheels for sure fire electrical reliability. The tender is cramped for space.
