The siding is just to, as you say Ken, park a third train and add another dimension to the view. I would like to have one passenger train, two mixed freight type trains. Maybe one long train and one short train. Most of the people that would see this are visitors to our home who would simply be intrigued by it. You know how people are when they haven't seen any model trains in years. It gives them something to talk about. That's always fun.
I'm doing something wrong. David (or someone) can you have a look at this? I can't get it to meet up for some reason. I think this is what you were talking about David with the siding. Charlie View attachment ho_work.any
Charlie, The problem was that the inner track was not parallel with the outer track. P.S. You might want to glue a track on the outer and inner loops to keep them from shifting
Hey Charlie I am building the same layout in my living room. It will be double tracks and i am using 22" radius. the track i am using atlas flex track. For the shelf i used 5 1/2" mdf primed shelf that is 12 feet long from home depot. And i will use crown moulding to cover the angle brackets. I posted some pics in an album under my name paulllauth
Charlie, the straight track at the right end of the passing siding was offset from the curve slightly. One trick is to disconnect (or delete) tracks that seem to be misaligned and reconnect them. It also helps to zoom into potential problem areas and have a closer look at how tracks are connected.
Thanks for the help and comments guys. I will get back to this project after the special run cars are shipped. Charlie
