Those are some ideas for doing small steam (and a couple of diseasemals) on a small layout.
I could post photos of Varney F-3's, both straight geared and multi-sheave belt drive (move the belt, change the gearing), but that stuff is bigger than you want.

Excellent suggestions all. That 0-6-0 looks very good. I'll post some pics of the layout as soon as there's something to photograph.

Sticking my nose where it don't belong: If you can't go bigger radius on one door, then clearly you need:

    MORE DOORS!!!! :)

    Sorry, I couldn't resist.

Per your original question: I too was gonna reccomend the P2K 0-8-0 and 0-6-0. However, if they end up too pricey for you, the Bachmann Sound Value steamers come mostly in tiny drivers, (440, 260) and are sweet little runners too. They have the bells and whistles, and that's about it, but they run nice and smooth and are in the 90-100 dollar range street value now. But heck, who of us here needs anything more than the chuff, a toot toot and a dingaling-dong anyway? I certainly wou;d be concerned if my train started mooing... :)
