I only have one good more or less "overall" layout shot, and this was done back in 1994, when layout was not as developed in details. But I was living in my own house where I could put up layout to ceiling background and curve around the corners. This shot, NOT manipulated, is looking straight into the corner of the room. A row of tree flats cut out in jagged "Christmas tree" shape and glued up with florist moss and ground foam forms a viewblock to hide "back" portion of 3 x 7' layout which was never finished. Beyond the modeled trees are some images of trees painted on the wall which is 5 feet further back. I had an aisle on the back side of the layout and intended to run a shelf around to the wall with the curve background.

I shot on 35mm film, used photofloods, don't remember if I shot on tungsten balanced slide film or used a blue filter with negative snapshot film balanced for daylight.

I married a neat lady who appreciates my train hobbies the next year and moved into her house. She let me use "most" of a room for the trains but I couldn't cover over the windows, etc.

When I looked at my demolition "urban renewal" shot, I was pleasantly surprised at how realistic the outlines of the houses in the grass, and the street patterns looked. If there can be anything pleasant about saying goodbye to an old layout.
