Have someone done it, I would like to add an ESU sound decoder to this loco which I have swapped out w/ a Bachmann's tender but couldn't find info on controlling the head light with DCC. seems like a impossible task even just to disassemble the boiler. Can anyone shed some light with a photo or two, thanks.
Yeah, its a tough job. I actually gave up on my attempt. The boiler front will pull out, but you still need to run the wires back. No easy task.
On my MP Pacific, I just left the stock wireing to the headlight. Yea, its on all the time,but its a lot better than trying to take apart one of the MP locos. I just wire up the 4 motor wires in the tender. Takes less than a half hour on the first one.
