You can also use Posi-Tap Connectors which is a solderless connection of 4-6 feeders to a common bus line.

    Hi Bob,
    1. Where can I get the Posi-Tap Connectors ?
    2. My bus line is 14 G wire and feeders are 22, so which size Posi-Tap Connectors do I need to get?
    Thanks.

I use cable ties (as suggested by seveal) and occasionally will staple one of the wires in each bundle to the underside of the layout so that they don't "droop". Admittedly, my wiring is a mess with 3 wires for each turnout controller, a signalling system and some other accessories.

Here is the thread on the Posi-Tap Connector's:

    Posi-Tap Connectors

You can order them directly from the company.

    Sometimes Walmart has them.

You want the green one's. That will fit the 14 gauge and 22 gauge wiring. You can hook up 5-6 22 gauge wires into one one Posi-Tap connector which will hook up into one 14 gauge wire bus line.

    Have fun.... [IMG] [IMG]

The PosiTaps are neat. Next time I wire a layout, I'll have to use them.

I like to drill holes through the framework and run the wire through the holes instead of going under each board. I make a hole for each bundle. Size depends on number of wires. Track bus - one hole, switch wires -one hole, etc. This alone keeps the wires from dangling below the benchwork. If you want to have some slack for future changes, put a loop in the wire and use wire ties, etc to keep it up against the bechwork. Plastic cable clamps are available at Radio Shack, Home Depot, etc. Use these for the runs that go along the length of the framework. Mount the wires about midway up on the frames.

I've seen those Euro-style connectors, but I've never seen a decent explanation of how to use them.

You attach the Posi-Tap connector to the bus line and then you attach 4-6 feeders into the other end of the connector.

    Hi,
I looked at Posi-tap tape connector web site, and they mentioned that Wal-Mart should carry their products. So, I call Wal-Mart and after a long checking I have been told they do not have it. So, I sent an email to the Posi-Tap telling them that. Posi-Tap replied to me that in the computer it shows that Wal-Mart has 5 of them on the shelf. So I called Wal-Mart again, and this time the lady took her time and found. So I got it and it is wonderful. I do not need to solder the wires. It is working fine.
Thank you all a lot for your help.

I'm happy to hear that you like the Posi-Tap connectors. They do save quite a bit of time.

They will also help you organize the wiring under your benchwork. [IMG] [IMG]

what he wants is to get the hanging wires to look neat from what i read. there are several ways to do this if you have troubleshooted the wiring and everything is working correctly you can use a low temp glue gun to mount the wires neatly to the layout underside or the framing. another option is to shorten the wires by looping then then using wire ties to keep them together thse bundles can be attacted to the framework or underside by a wire tie holder both available at places like lowes or ace hardware or maybe evne your local idiot shack(radio shack). personnally my preference is low temp glue i have that for attaching scenery stuff to the layout already and is very easy to do.
