I am relatively new to model railroading. I mostly have O scale stuff. I purchased a second Marx 999 engine and I noticed that the engines under the shells were different. Is this common that different engines will fit under different shells and how to I identify an engine? Thanks for any help.
I am NO expert, but you may have an early and late example. The late model had a double reduction motor and the Marx emblem was placed on the cab.
