I had come across decals for an NKP etched stainless conversion in N scale. Anyone familiar with that?
Here is the website for the company you refer to. http://www.nkpcarco.com/ Yes, they did make a kit to make a streamlined Hudson in N scale. Apparently they havent made this kit for years. Although they do still make C&O car sides. I have only seen one of their Hudson kits on ebay and that was only once. I was outbid on it or I would have made one by now. Here is a picture of the kit. http://www.trainweb.org/cons/NKPStreamline-Hudson.html I have thought of using a CoCor streamlined Hudson to try and make a C&O streamlined hudson. Time will tell.....
If I may ask, how much did the auction go? It's a shame C&O gets so little love. It's not exactly as if it was a small railroad.
Its been so long ago I dont remember. I agree that the C&O seems like almost a small railroad in terms of what the manufacturers make. Thankfully there have been some really nice C&O stuff in the last few years. But it still amazes me no one does the Allegheny given two different roads had them and when ever they appear in the brass form they go for a mint. If Bachmann is any indication they have done several versions of their HO scale C&O stuff in N scale. They also have they Kanawha in HO. I have my fingers crossed on that one.
Yeah. Almost hard to believe something like the Allegheny has never seen life in plastic. Considering how consistantly high brass examples go for. Ah well. A Kanawha would be great as would an accurate c&o mika do. A 2-10-4 would be slick to see.
I have one of those etched kits, but it is not a complete kit. There are no details for the pilot or the front of the smoke box, and there are no instructions provided to try and replicate them. I tried contacting NKP Car and they won't even answer my email.
