Last Sunday evening I was working at the hobby shop when a good friend and fellow N scaler came in with his wife. We went over to the train case and he picked out about 7 or 8 cars from our N scale selection. His wife was going to buy them for him for Xmas. He selected several of the new Atlas tank cars that we had among others. They brought them up to the regester and before I could ring them all up he said to wait, that he wanted to get one more. He came back with a 17,300 gallon Atlas tank car, orange in color holding it up he said to his wife, "Honey I just had to get this one, I will think of you when I run it". Well, I saw the awful look that she was giving him when she said, "I'M NOT A HOOKER!" Sheepishly he said, "I meant your favorite color is orange". Yes, he was holding up a Hooker Chemical tank car. We were still laughing about this the next day. [IMG] :D [IMG]

I can relate to that expression! However, my wife was once horrified by another car.

On our wedding day, my best man and other assorted members of the wedding party turned my car into a steam engine! It actually looked pretty nice, for a black Subaru hatchback. Paul (my best man) actually managed to fit a small, operating N railroad in the car! It looped around the back, ran between the seats and swung across the dashboard and in front of the passenger seat.

Well, my new bride and I come out of the restaurant where the reception was held and spy the car. There was a single RS1 running on the loop, and several cars were lined up alongside the track. All of a sudden, Holly gets this stunned expression, sweeps up one of the cars, and exclaims, "All right, who put this here!" The car she was holding was a Micro-Trains Gerber Baby Food reefer! Everyone got a good laugh out of it, although I don't think she was terribly amused at the time! :D

We can look back and laugh at that time now, especially since we have five children. But eleven years ago, we weren't quite ready yet!
