I love it, Liveing up here in Western Washington I still see ton's of BN engines many with no patchs. Th garbage train to everett regularly runs with all BN sets of GP50's or other Geep's. Today I saw a Eastbound intermodal with a H1 dash 9 and 3 BN SD40-2's. Are you guys still seeing lots of BN engines? I hardly ever see SF engines up here, unless it is a Dash 9.

Kevin, what kind of cars does the garbage train use? I am going to produce a trash train two-unit spine car with six 20ft containers, and am still looking for more info. especially close-up photos.

Kevin lucky to see anything but patches and H1 and H2 stuff here in Galesburg. Everything at least has something to that extent in the consist. I am always seeing a mother load of BNSF C44-9W's and SD70MAC around here. I would be lucky if I did see just a straight BN sighting.

Alan you have some mail regarding the garbage train.
Jack, I too see way to many HII stuff up here, Most of the big intermodals have C44's on them, although some do have the older stuff like SD40-2's and GP38/40's on them. I am lucky in that Everett Washington is thbase for many of the Vancover BC train engines. The North Branch as some of us call us is mostly a 4 axel main line so many of the engines parked in or around Everett are still in BN.

Kevin, When I do see SD40-2's, GP38-2 they usually are already patched just waiting to see the H1 scheme it is going to get or waiting to return to the lessor. I did hear though that there are some out there that are keeping there numbers and they are just waiting to recieve the BNSF patch to mark it for the BNSF. And they are keeping the original number on the side.

I see lotsa Dash 9's in H1/2, but mixed other locos. Mostly BN patches, and SF yellow bonnets. Sometimes the oddball stupid fleet Dash comes along, but usually BN stuff in Minot, ND.

Well the SD60s and 60Ms have made it to the Belen cutoff.

This weekend we are taking a couple days away and are adding a day @ Dalhart. TX where the Amarillo-Trinidad line cross the Golden State route.

It will be my first time shooting at a crossing on grade. Hope to see lots meets and plenty of action!

We only have one day and then back to the shop and then off to the Temple TX show.

I still see a good amount of BN power up here still (in Spokane now). All of it is patched and some is now FURX. Most of the BN stuff on the main is SD40-2's and SD60M's, but for local power we still have a couple GP39M/E's, GP38's, lots of GP40M's for the Chewelah turn, and even a SD9.

    BN and the Trash Train

The trash train uses container cars that are just like the ones used for double stack container trains. The trash containers are double stacked and have canvas tarps. Usually the power is GP-40's or GP-50's in three unit sets.
Pentrex has a DVD BNSF's Fallbridge Subdivision. BNCRG is the listing.
The video shows the line from Vancouver to Maryhill Washington. Several trash trains are shown as are grain unit trains and Amtrak's Empire Builder Portland connection trains 27 & 28.
Might get the DVD for your modelling of the equipment.

I caught the local in Ellensburg, WA this week with 2 H1 Geeps, both former BN. They were the only non-GEs I saw there all week, though I know I did not see anywhere near all the trains through town.

After I got back home to Ephrata, then I started to see all sorts of interesting power again.
