Not to rain on your parade, but something like that from shapeways would cost around a thousand dollars. a better Idea would be to start pestering bachmann to make an N scale version of their HO schnabel car.
i was thinking about that post about that shrink it stuff and buying the HO one and shrinking it to N
I wouldn't even bother with the shrink-it. The Schnabel would be quite a simple scratchbuild/kitbash. In fact.... I may have just been bitten by a new bug...
WOO!! Excitement is at maximum as my test models arrived within 60 seconds of my returning home from class today! The 3D prints are nearly IDENTICAL to the virtual model I created. I extremely pleased with how they turned out and I cant wait to get them assembled to show off. But first things first... What kind of glue works best on FUD? :/ Plastic cement doesn't seem to melt things together.
Very cool!!!! All my stuff has turned out beautifully, and now its your turn for some show and tell! I DEMAND PICS lol. I have found that good ol' CA glue is the absolute best for it.
Very cool Mark!!! I was working on a similar lift, but was having issues trying to make the boom operate so it has been a back-burner sort of project. Does your work? What all needs assembled on it?
Thanks Brian. Due to the limitations of the material, only the first extension telescopes. However, it is possible to replace the second arm with a brass tube to make the whole boom fully operational. These items will be made available soon through this thread: http://www.trainboard.com/grapevine/...-lift/page2#18
