I realize there have been production problems in China, but sheesh! I *think* I reserved a set of Intermountain D&RGW single-stripe F7s -- announced, originally, I believe, in 1892 -- but I'm not sure, because the notes I took on the transaction have long ago disappeared into the void that Consumes All Things. Was it Wig-Wag? Our much-esteemed Pete in Brooklyn? Or the tail-enders in Denver? In the meantime, my credit card has been reissued due to fraudulent charges at least twice.... My nightmare is that I never actually reserved anything, and they'll be gone overnight --- Pfffftttt.

About all you can do is check around, and see if you can locate the retailer. Then hope they have records of your reservation. Otherwise.... :(

If you did the transaction online, then you can go back and check your emails since usually the retailer will email you a confirmation of your purchase or reservation. If you've got online access to your credit card statements, you can also hunt for your transaction there. If both of those things are not possible or fail, then BoxcabE50's suggestion is about as good as you will be able to do.

    Cheerio!

I feel your pain..........that's why I do ALL my preorders from one retailer. Makes it easier to check up on things. Like you, I've had preorders that have exceeded the life of several credit cards.....again much easier to update with one vendor than several. Good luck.

Even if you can't locate your etailer, you could still go to Pete and reserve it now. You're not gonna get charged by the card on your original reservation because your card has been cancelled.

Probably should go back and re-reserve ALL the stuff you had, since all of them will have expired CC numbers and not register.

So since I preordered an Atlas S2 with sound from BLW, and my mom's credit card expired, but I think she still is with the same people, did I then loose my pre-order and will never see my S2 (sure as heck ain't paying MSRP, let alone anything more than $160) or will I get an email to provide a new number once they are ready to ship?

Cody, you 'should' get an email from the etailer telling you that they tried running the card and it did not work. It would be wiser to update the etailer with the new card info now and not have to worry about it.

On a similiar note I am approaching the nine year anniversary of pre-ordering two PRR M1's from PCM/BLI. Since then I have moved, changed credit cards, given up hope of ever seeing any real PRR steam in N scale and now very seriously considering saying goodbye to Ntrak and switching to HO.

Was going to mention this loco also...I know of a few people who had preordered this loco and have since passed. Maybe it will show up in the next 15 years...just maybe.

Hopefully decals and paint are still an option if you can find the loco at the right price and all else fails. Went through something like this way back when the first full baggage cars were introduced. Ordered and went months only to find they had been sold out in my road name. Had decals and paint so took the option of ordering in any road name they had. Still waited almost two years and finally called the people myself. Come to find out they had a bunch in a road name not selling in the warehouse. So much for the give me any road name you have order. They finally arrived and went into the paint stripper after a two year wait.

I dug out some old N Scale Railroading magazines last night looking for an article (from 2010) and saw the ConCor ad for the UP veranda turbines 'coming in first quarter of 2011'. As of today, they are still in 'coming' status...ConCors own website says 'coming back in late 2013'! I don't think that they are coming...

    "Termoil".
When they can't be bothered to spell check, it doesn't exactly inspire confidence that this is a high priority for them.

Agreed. Even worse, the current day total reliance upon machines to clean up behind us, instead of using our minds. Not to mention the ever weakening teaching processes for spelling, grammar, etc. :(

I am with the two previous posts. I read the complete ad in the link, all the way through their "Summery" !!! Had this been a rough draft, that's OK. Just change it !!! To let something like this get out the door speaks volumes for Quality Control within the company !!! Could explain some past problems I've had !!! I realize this has strayed from the thread. Sorry, but I had to add !!!

Intermountain is such a crap shoot when it comes to pre-orders (Chinese chaos aside). Unlike Atlas and Kato, they basically throw reservation fodder out there and then only follow through if/when the pre-orders justify it. IE, you might get it (some day) or you might not get it at all. Annoying as all get out, but what are you gonna do?

Well... I guess if we want the stuff Intermountain announces... we have to promote it everywhere we can until they get enough pre-orders to justify the manufacture of the items.

Just a case in point... there are some e-tailers which still are not showing the Rock Island F7B units that were added after the announcement of the FP7's. I'm concerned that the lack of exposure for the F7B units may cause both the Rock Island FP7A & F7B run to be cancelled or put off indefinitely.

Yeah, I've been thinking the same thing. At this point I'll be very surprised if those B units actually happen :-(

We had some customers call about these after pre-ordering a long time ago. I called Con-Cor to ask about them and the person who answered the phone actually laughed at me and said "not enough pre-orders, we will likely not do it" so I cancelled all our pre-orders for them and will no longer take any for Con-Cor.

Don't these guys get the vicious circle that they're creating? Cancel a project because of insufficient pre-orders, and then the next time you announce a project nobody pre-orders 'cuz they figure it'll just get cancelled anyway. Helluva way to run a railroad!

    Cheers,
    -Mark
