Well, we finally got the move done and have gotten settled in. Taking a cue from our new surroundings the first 2 drawings draw from some local history. First up is the Rock Island Rocket, the next is the IC Green Diamond. Then I am back to some SF stuff. Going to do the next 2 in my Spirit of the Warbonnets series featuring FP45's and PA's. Here is the progress on the RI, should be done in a day or two:
Mom and Dad took me down to see this new train when it came through Wichita. Dad bought a Strom Becker HO scale wood kit, motor truck and set of car trucks for the 3 car train. It took a lot of carving, but I finally got it made and all the color stickers applied. The only track available back then was zinc rails with fiber tie strip, that was so soft, it had waves all down the line. It never did run well, until we finally made the first real layout with brass rail and Tru-Scale wooden roadbed. The drawing looks excellent!
