Does anybody know or know of some reading material that would give me an idea of the exact rolling stock that was used on the famed express. I'm currently trying to get all info I can, so that way I can build a consist of the 1938 version of this train. I already got the Dreyfuss Hudson and the T3 Motor as well.

P.S. Any info on the rollingstock that was used on the Daylight limited would be appreciated as well. Thanks guys.

I don't own either one, but Karl Zimmerman and Richard Cook have both authored books on the Century. They might provide a start for your research.

Also check out Kalmbach's old book "Some Classic Trains", they usually have a listing of the consist of many of the passenger trains.

Also Model Railroader had a specific article on the 20th Century Limited with consists, drawings and colored renderings of the cars.

Saw that. Sometimes NYC rostered locos that were not usually on the 20th Century. Like the Niagara for instance or the non-streamlined Hudsons.

I have a copy of the “NYC Great Steel Fleet 1948-1967” book by Geoffrey Doughty. I’ve had it a long time and I haven’t thumbed through it in a while, but I believe it covered consists for several trains.

I’m not home this week to pull it out and check it for sure.

I did a quick internet search for "1938 20th Century Limited consist" and see two sites that list the consist. Not sure if it is what you are looking for but it might help. Also not sure if I can list the sites here, but they were on the first page of my search.
