    Hi,
I got some Kato inside bearing trucks a while ago and now need a few more. They are the trucks they use on the Amfleet cars. I can't seem to find them anymore and was wondering if anyone knew if there's a place where you can buy parts for Bachmann cars because they also made inside bearing trucks for their Amfleet cars. I checked their website and couldn't find anything. I don't even have a part number for the Bachmann trucks so I'm kind of at a loss. I realize I could buy Kato Amfleet passenger cars, but then not only would I be spending more, I'd be making a pair of Amfleet cars completely useless. Any assistance would be appreciated. Thanks.

    red lights red lights.

    WARNING WARNING.

Bachmann Amfleet trucks are cr@p. Don't get them.

A Kato F40PH can only pull TWO BAchmann Amfleet cars!!!!!!

    Friction is that bad.

I know, but I have to work with what I can get. I have a few of the Bachmann Amfleet cars and can use about 3 or 4 of them on a train. The major source of friction is due to their lighting system. Since I'd be removing the lighting factor, they should work ok for me. I understand that others who have done this have significantly reduced the drag. While I'd prefer the Kato, I'm happy to work with what's available. I can always change them out in the future if the Kato's become available again.

Look at Kato's parts page here. They're showing trucks and wheelsets for Amfleet, Viewliner and baggage cars.

Been there. They have them listed, but they're sold out. I got some back in march from ¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤¤.com, but they've been out of stock since then. They have the wheelset, but that doesn't do me much good without the trucks. That's why I wouldn't mind getting the Bachmann's now and changing them out later for the Kato's. I just have no idea where I can get the Bachmann's assuming they're even available for purchase. Their parts webpage doesn't have them listed.

The Bachmann trucks aren't bad if you don't use the springs for the lighting system..I took mine out and cast lowered bolsters for the trucks,a Life Like F40's will easily pull 8 of them..

The trucks on the last batch of Bachmann Amfleets worked alot better than the early ones. I've got a Amdinette that rolls well.

Do you know if Bachmann changed the tooling on the trucks? I would be curious what they changed to make them roll better.

I wonder if he means-- The 2000 release runs better than the ones they released in 1980.

    He's right.

Does anyone know a part number for the Bachmann trucks? The newer release I mean, not their first one in the 80's.
