    Hello List:

Would anyone have any information of BNSF operations closing down in Interbay (Seattle) in the near future?

    Thank You,

    Mike

All the way shut down? No running repairs or daily maintenance? Which means equipment would need to be dragged uncountable miles elsewhere. There's no cost savings in that. Except in superficial paper shuffling.

Please post any substantiated news if you find some. I am curious!

I heard about this awhile back. BNSF wants to close it down and divide the work between Pasco and/or Parkwater in Spokane, but that was a few years ago.

I heard this again about 2 months ago. Came from a track worker in the Seattle area, whose name escapes me right now.
Guess the land around Interbay has sprung up dollar signs in the bean counter's eyes.

Knwoing what happened in the past at these places, I'd imagine the cleanup costs would make a dent in any real estate values.

I thought that most facilities in Spokane were pretty much closed down. Just running repairs?

Would this have anything to do with the discusion over on the CN section that has to do with CN taking over some BNSF trakage in the Vancover area?
