    Hi

I'm resident in London, UK at least until January and a modeller of South Australian AN/ASR in Nn3- and N if the Nn3 doesn't work out- it can be a tough scale to work in and there's no guarantee all the things I want to do will work. And N would allow me to use those great Aust-N-Rail kits like the OB gondola and M van, not to mention Phil Badger's 44/930.

I do a bit of casting and scratchbuilding, as you can imagine.

Something of a landmark recently as a modeller in Germany has done an ASR CK class for 3'6" as runs at Whyalla. The first operating Nn3 Australian loco ?

I also have a fondness for Tasrail especially post-AN, and the Philippine railways.

    Cheers

    Ben

    Ben,
Welcome to trainboard I hope you enjoy this site and make this your home. If you have any questions feel free to post one or you can email me as well.
It is rare that a person outside Australia would model South Australian railways.

Do you have a layout? It would be great to see some pictures. Once again welcome to Trainboard.

    Ben - welcome aboard!

I recently met an N scaler around here who was experimenting in Nn3, but I'm not sure if he was doing Aussy or North American prototype. If I can remember who it was... I'll keep an eye out for it!

    Gday Ben,

I too have dabbled in South Australian N gauge previously. I started with a white metal GM kit on a Bachmann SD40 chasis and an off the shelf Bertren? 930 in a green and yellow Spanish railway scheme. Both have eventually worn out and often grace the engine shed on my little layout. After building a few resin kits I changed over to British and American off the shelf models as they were readily available second hand. There are however a number of modelers who keep the faith with a fair representation of SAR/ AN enthusiasts in the SANGs club based in Adelaide.

Hope to hear more of your collection.
