I decided to make a few improvements, and paint the depot in the colors the depot/ museum wears today: I made the chimney's more prototypical, and made my own shingles instrad of using the Paper Creek ones. I also added some figures, details, and signs. The hard part was getting the signs to print and still be readable. And here is a yard shanty I made and painted in the same color scheme to match on my Z Bend Track Module. Notice the mainline tracks are code 57 Micro-Trains flextrack, and the siding is code 40 handlaid. I used Arizona Rock and Mineral N Scale ballast.
Yup. That's what it looks like. Sure brings me back home again. I grew up on a farm just a few miles east of this station. If I recall correctly, believe they decorated it to represent the time pre-Northern Pacific ownership. I was in the building several times as restoration went along. They did a great job. Boxcab E50
Here is a couple module shots: Board and foam: Plaster and Rock Castings: Turntable and Cork Roadbed: Here is the mountains finished, scenery added, treed, and a couple structures. The other side is not started except the mountain is finished and treed. This is the narrow side of the module. I still have to add some more details and scenery to finish this side, but it's good enough for me to start on my roundhouse and yard. I'll get back to this side another day.
Robert- That scenery sure reminds me of old home. Is this module an extension of your current layout? Boxcab E50
No, Actually my home layout is N Scale Sub N modules. This module is Z Bend Track so I can run my Z Scale models. A few local guys are starting a Z Bend club out here called BAZ Modules for the San Francisco Bay Area Z Scale Module Group. This is my first module, and the club hopes to have them ready in time to display at the November GATS in Pleasanton.
