Yes, it's a start. Finally managed to get a 10x11 foot loop of G Scale set up on the back patio a couple days ago. Weather was near 80*, and the patio was finally cleared! Until now, patio wasn't clear, or weather decided NOT to cooperate. Ignore the back drop(s), as this is temporary, until I can start actual grading for new garden layout. Power for the day, a pair of Aristo Craft Rio Grande GP40's: Entire freight car fleet: Aristo Craft caboose:
Ran for about 20 minutes. At 77* out at the time, I wasn't gonna pass the chance! Turned 40* colder with snow the next day too!
Snow- You need to build a push plow. I know someone who has one. And he uses it for his outdoor operation. The photos look quite real. Boxcab E50
Have a plow already. Just don't have said stuff called snow! Might get other equipment out this weekend and grab a few shots of it as well.
Keith, You see the most recent Prospector mag? Matt Hutson built a G scale X-67...... *drools* Very nice!
I recieved mine not too long ago! Agreed, a nice job on the G Scale plow! I'd still love to get a working rotary plow though. Oh well......
Nice start. Every time I see two or three Rio Grande engines together I'm reminded of my families great slow trip back home from Texas and Oklahoma. We bumped back and forth over the divide a number of times in the sight seeing mode and one sight was a bunch of Rio Grande SD40-2's pulling a looooong train of coal hoppers. Everything was black. VERY black. There wasn't one inch of orange/yellow surface on any engine, any car or the caboose. Even the road numbers were completely gone. I guess the crew knew what they were driving. No one else did. Dave at Winter Valley Regional Railroad - Welcome!
