The cold, stinging air surounds us as a soft yet hard snow falls. All is well however as we sit inside our work shops, amid a clear work bench and a hot coffee. It is time for Weekend Modeling Plans.

After a few busy weeks, I have one more busy Saturday with sports and then I can get back to my modeling projects. I was able to finally get an Atlas undec N GP38-2 and I have been getting decals, paint and details to start work on it. The work shop and office are moved. All that is left now is the layout. In between the sports, I would like to get this moved in so work can resume on that. I also need to start on a T-Trak module that I need to have finished by March.

So how about you? I know a few of you are lucky enough to be attending the largest train show in the United States, the Amherst Society Big train show in Springfield MA. Lucky you! That show is one of my all time favorites. I can't be there this year, maybe next year. How many have track work, bench work or maybe some DCC work in front of them this weekend? Whatever your plans, let us know. We'll all come back on Monday the 28th and see how we all did. Until then, have a happy and safe weekend and...

    High Greens!

I got the carfloat assembled last week. The weather has been too cold to spray paint outside, and it will remain cold until the middle of next week. So, the carfloat sits on the coffee table.

I also got the Envirotex poured in the mill canal, since I couldn't paint anything outside.

This weekend I probably won't get much done on the layout. It will still be cold, but I'm going to the Train Show! Yes, once again it will be colder than a witch's bosom up north, and howling like a banshee to boot, so skiing doesn't look like a comfortable experience. That gives me a free weekend, and I'll be in West Springfield, MA, on Sunday. I don't have a shopping list, and I probably won't spend much, but I have a great time just looking at all the great layouts, picking up detail parts and maybe coming back with something I never knew I wanted.

I'm going up to Springfield on Sunday also. I am hoping to find some building kits for the T-Trak switching modules i'm building. I have to get the structures built so I can lay the industrial trackage to fit the footprint of the buildings. I'm hoping to have these modules ready for the fall show season. It's been cold here too. I had to turn on my oil furnace for the first time this Winter as my Wood stove and Pellet stove couldn't keep ahead of the cold.

I'm not going to Springfield (insert sad melodramatic music here) and we're doing a major top to bottom house cleanign and reorg, so te likelihood of train activity remains minimal. That said, it will benefit the trains in the long run - I'm slowly getting stuff out of my train room that should be elsewhere,s ince there's now space in "elsewhere"

I planned to body-mount and lower a half dozen boxcars this weekend... This is the first one I did (on the left, of course):

This morning I was all prepped to start spraying when my airbrush jammed.... I decided to stop and deep clean it:

Locked and loaded! That CSXT Boxcar is my project for this evening...
