Another week has gone by and now comes the first weekend of February as winter slowly goes on. With temps in some places well below 0, it is time to gather around our warm (hopefully warm) work shops and start working on this weekends modeling plans.

With temps here being at a cool -20, I will be staying in the work shop. I was able to get the layout moved Monday night into the second bedroom / converted office on Monday. I'll finish getting it set up and run some trains then fix two track problems that snuck up. No painting this week, but I'm slowly getting parts for the two diesel projects that I will hopefully start in the middle of the month.

So how about you? Will the cold temps keep you at your layout and or work bench? What projects are on your list this weekend? Track work, DCC, detailing whatever it may be let us know! We'll come back on Monday the 4th and see how we all did. Until then, stay safe and warm and...

    High Greens!

It will be a ski weekend for us. We'll be taking off as soon as we both get home from work, and we won't be back until Sunday evening. Probably, we'll watch what's left of the game and then turn.

I got a bit of assembly work done on the carfloat apron this week, and started measuring and thinking about the benchwork extension that will be necessary to support it. I was going to use manual throws for the turnout just before the apron and the one actually on it, but when I measured everything, it's a long reach in a tight spot, so I'm going to have to think about remoting those.

I have to do some household chores this weekend. Cleaning the chimney for my woodstove and cleaning out my pellet stove are the biggest things to do. More snow coming Sunday. I hope to solder in continuity jumpers on my peco insulfrog switches before I install them. I don't like to depend on point to stockrail contact.
