The last weekend of February is finally here, yet as a reminder that we still have six or more weeks of winter, nature has given most of us in North America winter weather. Sounds like a good idea to stay inside and see what we all have lined up for Weekend Modeling Plans.

So far I have a busy weekend planned. Saturday, I'm heading into Champaign for a friends first "Steam Up" live steam show. I never knew it, but this area has a lot of Garden G gauge live steam fans including a friend I once worked with. I'll be going to learn as much as I can and hopefully run the ATSF 0-4-0 switcher I picked up these past week from said friend. I have always wanted a live steamer and he gave me an offer I couldn't refuse so hopefully tomorrow we'll see my switcher run around their module they will have set up. Sunday should be quiet, Jared will be out and Angela wants to visit relatives so I will take advantage of an empty and quiet house and finish the B&M caboose I started last weekend as well as work on a new T-Trak module I started yesterday. All in all, I'm hoping for a productive weekend.

So how about you? Does the winter weather have you staying put this weekend and working on something railroad related? Paint and decals? Bench work and track? Scenery and weathering? Whatever you plan to work on this weekend, let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 25th and see how we all did. Until then, have a happy and safe weekend, stay warm and...

I, too, will have an empty and quiet house. My wife has taken advantage of school vacation week here in Massachusetts to take an extended ski trip. We're expecting a snowstorm Saturday night, so my plan is to visit my LHS before then to pick up a couple of Tortoises, make sure the drill is charged and buy enough food for a couple of days. Then, I'll install the fixed section of benchwork for the carfloat and apron, and start work on the removeable float section. With the house to myself, I'll sprawl out and weather the carfloat, too.

Snow and rain this weekend so I hope to get some signal control boards built and do some more work on the switch project for my club.

My weekend last week dealt with the building of 8 structure kits. This week plans are to finish a locomotive decoder install and start painting backdrop. Then if I have time build more structure kits.

Not much here, but I will order up some more supplies to try out building turnouts on my own inspired by Charlie Comstock and a friend (Chip) who tried out the Fastracks route. I have a bunch of the Atlas custom line turnouts in my yard that don't have live frogs that my short switchers could use. The toughest part is keeping my finger off the clicker and adding those eye candy items to my orders.

Keep your fingers crossed for me.

On another note, I may change up the scenery contour on the layout a bit.
