It may be April 26 but right now we are under a frost warning and the heat is running, perhaps spring will come with May. Maybe this blast of cold will give you a chance to get some modeling done, it's time for Weekend Modeling Plans.

Not much by way of model railroading this weekend, Jared starts us off tonight with a track meet then soccer after that. Saturday he has another track meet an hour and half south of here starting at 7am. Then Sunday he has two soccer games. In between some of all of that, I hope to get more done on my Maywood Station T-Trak module.

So how about you? What do you plan to do with the weekend? Will you be at any shows or op sessions this weekend? Track work, structure work or DCC, whatever your plans may be, let us know. We'll come back on Monday the 29th and see how we all did. Until then, have a happy and safe weekend and...

Saturday is the semi-annual 30% off sale at a nearby hobby shop. I'll be there bright and early. I really don't have any big purchases planned, but I usually pick up some trees and a freight car or two. I also need some scratchbuilding supplies and perhaps some detail parts. This isn't "my" LHS, so I'll just walk around as I'm not familiar with the inventory. For those in New England who might be interested, the sale is at Hobby Emporium in Tyngsboro. They are well-stocked in N and HO, and also carry a lot of aircraft and ship models.

I've still got some ornery spots in that short curve of girder rail running down to the carfloat. Most of my equipment handles it OK, but the short tank engine likes to run off the track, and the last of the idler flats before the engine drifts off when it's being pushed with a string of cars towards the float. I'm going to pull the structures off so I can put my magnifier lamp right on the layout and hopefully spot the problem. I'm thinking of adding a bit of material as a "guard rail" to keep things on the track. While the structures are off, I've got some roof details and fire escapes to add.

The honey-do list keeps growing, though, and I'm not sure about the best laid plans of mice and men.

Lawn work will be taking prescedent over modeling, but I may be able to squeeze in some electrical work on one of my T-Trak yard modules to prep them for signal installation.
