Greetings fellow modelers! Well Friday is here again and it's time for the Weekend Modeling Plans! I am officially HOME! I finally got in on Wednesday afternoon after having truck issues. The layout is set up and is in my office. After a few weeks, work will resume. This weekend is going to be spent setting up the home office but trains just might run! So how about you? Layout work? Shows? Let us know what you want to get done this weekend. We'll get together on Monday, May 7th and compare notes. Until then, High Greens!
Just piddling on the layout, but a friend and I are building two freemoN 4' industry yard modules to add to his set.
Tomorrow is the Conrail Historical Society's Spring Rail B Q in Newport, PA, so I'll be headed there for BBQ, fresh made on site french fries, and softball interrupted frequently by trains. Anyone else in the area is welcome, CRHS member or not. http://thecrhs.org/events/CRHS-2012-Spring-Rail-B-Q
During the week, I got my towns museum layout running on the new wiring that I installed over the past several months. There is one small problem though with the power pack that I will have to correct tomorrow. The layout ran previously on one MRC pack that controlled the trains and the reversing module and another MRC pack to provide power to control the switches. The one MRC power pack that I used does not supply enough power to run the train, reverse the track power and throw the two switches at the same time. I have a snapper that i'll install tomorrow as a test or possibly put in the other MRC pack for the switches. Sunday I have to start preping my T-Trak modules for a trip to Albany NY next Saturday for the National Train Day display at Amtraks Rensselaer station on the 12th. Attached is a pic of the old wiring that I removed.
I'm feeling a bit under the weather today, but I'll probably just continue the structure work I started last weekend. I finished the Shamrock Hotel during the week.
I am in between two week-long trips out of town and we are have a yard sale... plus in the in-laws are coming this evening to spend the night. Nope, no progress this weekend! However, I did manage to glue down a couple pieces of foam on the middle level so I can move all of my cars from the top level down to begin track planning on the top plus planning the massive rolling mill and power house.
Not much time today to work on the layout but did go to a local hobby shop and made a large purchase of track. Hopefully when I get some energy back I can continue where I left off. Also need to make a stencil for clouds this weekend too.
