This past week has flown by, faster than a CB&Q Zephyr for me. It's time for Weekend Modeling Plans!

I guess technically, my weekend started yesterday with my good friend and railfan buddy buddy starting out early to railfan the BNSF main or Transcon from Toluca to Galesburg Illinois. Train traffic was lighter than normal but we got some great shots and made our way into Galesburg by early evening with a healthy layer of dust and sunburn. Today I plan on going downtown and visit the Burlington Route museum then head to the train show at the college and set up my display as well as help my club, NTBN, set up both N-Trak and T-Trak modules. From there, it is off to the yard tours of the BNSF (A great use of $25.00) then get some dinner and rest track side. Saturday and Sunday should be busy as we have more vendors and tables as well as layouts this year as we have had in recent years. The CB&Q SD70 ACe I finished last week will be put on display and NTBN will be selling donation tickets towards the Carl Sandburg College Foundation for student scholarships. Someone will win that locomotive this weekend and I hope we generate a good amount of money for the scholarship program. I hope to find a few things for the layout this weekend such as Tortoise machines, additional decoders and maybe some more good deals on some locomotives. All in all, a very busy weekend filled with everything trains.

So how about you? What are your plans as we come into the weekend? Track work, painting, DCC? Whatever it may be, let us know! We'll all be back here on Monday the 24th to see how we all did.

If you happen to be in the Galesburg area or attending the Model Train Show at Carl Sandburg College, stop by and say hi!

    High Greens!

I got this for Fathers' Day:

My daughter took a ceramics class in her last semester in college. She just made this up quickly, I'm sure, because hee "real" work is much more sophisticated.

I never got to finish the re-wheel job I started last weekend on those 5 ice-bunker reefers, so that's on the agenda. I'm also going to pick up a turnout at my LHS, and start the trackwork for the tannery and the Railway Express depot, and perhaps begin construction of the tannery buildings to get a feel for how it will go. With Penny out of town visiting her parents in Florida, I've got the weekend to myself but also a number of tasks to be done. It should be a good weekend for a bike ride or two, and then there's a Bruins game to watch as well.
