I hope all of you that are Americans both home and abroad had a Happy Independence Day yesterday. Some of you might still have today off and others might have to work today, but whatever your situation, It's time for Weekend Modeling Plans.

Angela is having a combined Birthday bash for Jared and I Saturday and Sunday we head of to a soccer game but this time on a larger scale than what has been done in the past. Between the games and cook outs, I hope to get some more on the layout Maywood Station T-Trak module done. I need to find some cork roadbed and more code 55 flex as the layout will be under going a huge transformation in the next coming weeks.

So how about you? What do you hope to accomplish this weekend? Between cook outs, picnics and pool parties, what do you have on the model railroad agenda? Let us know what your plans are! We'll come back here on Monday the 8th and see how we all did. Until then, enjoy the Summer weekend and...

    High Greens!

I got a head start on the weekend, and I've taken today off, too. I grilled a nice steak last night. I think I'll do Italian sausage tonight.

The last two remaining sidings on Phase 2 of my layout are moving along. I've got a block of plywood glued to the underside of the layout for the Tortoise, and a DPDT toggle wired up to power it. I hope to get the track glued down today, and I should have time to start assembling a structure or two.

I was outbid last week on a chemical tank car, which I want to deliver acid and other nasty stuff to the tannery. But, last night I found another as a Buy It Now, cheaper than I would have had to pay to win the first auction. A couple of clicks and it was done.

I'm scratchbuilding trees for a friend who in return is installing a Tsunami sound decoder and lights in my Athearn Frisco SD40-2. Here's some of the cypress swamp trees I finished today.

Love 'em, Jim. They deserve to be prominent on his layout.
I'll be making a few bottlebrush pines to tuck into the background. No star quality about them though.

Thanks. I've always wanted to try bottle brush trees. I do need a few pine trees here and there.

Have a couple of F&C HOn30 gondola kits to finish and make ready to paint. I hope.

Working on redrawing my layout, maybe get as far as laying the track back down again. Need a place for my Kato Amtrak P42 + 5 piece set to stretch its legs on. Any interest in help/ideas over in the N scale Modern CSX layout thread in N Scale section
