Are you superstitious as this Friday the 13th looms over us at the station? Or are you totally focused on this Weekends Modeling Plans?

Despite "normal convention" Friday the 13th is always a good or lucky day for me. Now seeing that in type I wonder if I just jinxed myself. No matter as I'm not the superstitious type. Now where is my rabbit foot? Saturday I'll be involved in my other hobby (RC Planes) and will be out of town but by Sunday, I'll be back to work on the layout. Although I have not posted on my layout thread in a while, I have been working on the road and planing my track realignment that will be taking place soon. This might be the weekend I get the southern end of the track redone. No small task unfortunately as the picture I received in the mail shows I have my large siding on the wrong side of the main. This means ripping that up, the Potter Place small spur and a lot of the hill and road I installed in January. Sounds like a lot of work, but I would rather be accurate than just "close enough."

So how about you? Hopefully you don't have any major track realignments. Module work? Kit bashing? How about some scenery? Whatever your goals are, list them here with pictures if you like. We'll all get back together on Monday the 18th and see how we all did. Until then, have a productive weekend and...

Well, I won the auction for a static grass applicator on eBay. It's not here yet, but hopefully it's in the mail, and I may even get it over the weekend. In the meantime, I'll be at my LHS getting some grass (no, it's not the way it sounds) and I'll probably go to the craft store for some matte medium. It will be a time of experimentation to get the technique down. I have some parts of the layout that are unfinished, but will be grassy areas, so I'll probably practice there. If it comes out well, fine, and if not I can tear it up and try again with no great loss.

Last weekend, while engaged in my July tradition of light modeling and layout work while watching the Tour de France, I was rudely interrupted by the death of the bulb in my DLP TV. Fortunately, the blinking lights and the manual led me right to the problem, I ordered a new bulb online and was back up on Wednesday afternoon.

I also made a scenery decision. For a year or so now, I've been planning a rock face on the side of a piece of scenery that I "excavated" to connect Phase 1 of my layout to Phase 2. When I looked at this pink scar and started thinking of how to work it into the adjacent Mooseport scenery whose design I finally finalized, I decided that it just didn't work, geologically speaking. So, I'll be "bulldozing" this high ground, just using a bit of rock face to tie it into the cut on the other side of the tracks, and finishing the rest off as a low hill with static grass. I love it when a plan comes together.

Well, I need to touch up the scenery I worked last weekend and perhaps add some other things too it. I really need some weeds along the bank. Maybe figure out where to get a couple whitetails to put up along the tree line.

I also have plenty of detail parts to apply to some more GP7's. Hopefully my lift bars and additional MU stands will come soon.

I'm sure there is more I will work on.

My club will be running our layouts at a show in Middletown NY next Sunday the 22nd. I have finished both end modules for my T-Trak yard. Now I have to work on the two middle modules.

We've got family and friends coming in for our son's 6th BD, but hopefully Sunday there will be a little time to continue to would on an unfinished roundhouse.
